Residents Enjoy 70s & 80s Disco Party

Two things we highly value here at Haling Park Care Home in Croydon are reminiscence activities and the benefits of music and dancing.

We recently brought the two together when we threw our residents a 70s and 80s disco party. Haling Park went back in time as we rolled back the years and celebrated the 70s and 80s era.

We decorated the home with brightly coloured bunting and balloons and equipped everyone with inflatable microphones and instruments.

The residents and staff dressed up in neon colour necklaces and bright wigs and the residents joined in with the singing, dancing, and reminiscence of memories from these decades. Our lovely Anna McDonald helped us get into the spirit with some fantastic 70 and 80s disco classics.

After everyone was finished boogying the afternoon away, we tested our knowledge with a 70s and 80s trivia quiz.

At Haling Park, it is incredibly important to us that we provide residents with opportunities to socialise, keep both physically and mentally stimulated, and ultimately lead an enjoyable life.

Our activities programme is always jam-packed with activities that meet our resident's interests as well as teach them something new. We go above and beyond to provide them with days like this, where they have something to look forward to and can really get involved with celebrating.

We do this for many occasions such as national holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and even if the weather is just looking a bit dull outside. At Haling Park, residents can rest assured that their every need, interest and preference is looked after.
