Our Make A Wish Promise

We at Haling Park Care Home want to provide residents with the opportunity to tick things off their bucket lists as part of our make a wish promise. Written below are a couple of stories about our residents' who requested trips out to their favourite places, and we were delighted to make this happen for them.

Kenneth

Kenneth moved into Haling Park in February of 2021 he was given a prognosis of 3 months to live and sadly passed away in December of 2021.

During his time here at Haling Park Kenneth enjoyed watching live music and playing cards, he also loved a good cup of tea and an episode of midsummer murders.

For his birthday Kenneth made a wish, to have a Kebab in a Kebab shop and we were lucky enough to make this wish come true.

Cecil

Cecil recently celebrated his 68th birthday at Haling Park, surrounded by family and staff Cecil enjoyed his day to the fullest.

With a strong Jamiacan heritage and a lover of all things reagge, we made a special birthday wish come true by taking Cecil back to his Carribean roots with a trip to ‘Reaggae Masters’ a local record shop.

This trip gave Cecil the chance to reminisce about his past and his love for music and he even made a CD purchase of his favourite artist Bob Marley.

We will continue to meet residents' wishes and requests as we love nothing more than to put a smile on their faces and ensure they live a fulfilling life.
