Celebrating Star Wars Day at Haling Park Care Home
At Haling Park Care Home in South Croydon, the force was strong this May as residents came together to celebrate Star Wars Day in grand style. Marking the special occasion on the fourth of May, affectionately known as "May the Fourth Be With You," our residents enjoyed a day filled with galactic fun, creativity, and camaraderie.
A Day in a Galaxy Far, Far Away
The festivities kicked off with a classic Star Wars movie marathon, transporting our residents to a galaxy far, far away. The lounge was transformed into a mini theatre, complete with comfortable seating and themed decorations, setting the perfect atmosphere for a day of cinematic adventure. The residents were captivated by the epic tales of heroism, adventure, and the timeless battle between the light and dark sides of the Force.
In addition to the movie marathon, the residents got hands-on with Star Wars-themed arts and crafts. Everyone actively participated in making crafts of their favourite Star Wars characters and iconic spacecraft. The crafts session was a hit, with residents enthusiastically shaping and painting pictures of beloved figures like Yoda, Darth Vader, and more.
