    Simon & Bentley

On August 3rd, 2019, Bentley, a Newfoundland, entered the world as one of five puppies—three boys and two girls—in a litter born in Bournemouth, of a private breeder. Simon, a retired prison officer with a passion for Newfoundland dogs, motivated by a desire to give back to the community, Simon sought to leverage Bentley’s incredible nature by certifying him as a therapy dog in February 2022.

Bentley embodies the classic traits of a Newfoundland— these gentle giants have remarkable intelligence. Their abilities in water rescue and lifesaving stem from their muscular build, thick double coat, webbed paws, and exceptional swimming prowess.

Together, Simon and Bentley engage in their shared love for visiting care homes, fostering a profound bond with the residents. Their greatest joy lies in bringing smiles to everyone’s faces and witnessing the benefits that a therapy pet can bring to those they interact with.
